Cave Hill, St. Michael is a suburban area situated in the parish of St. Michael. It is located about 4 km north-west of the capital-city Bridgetown along the west coast of Barbados. The University of the West Indies comprises four campuses through the region, which are Mona in Jamaica, St. Augustine in Trinidad and Tobago, Cave Hill in Barbados and the Open Campus which serves students across the region. The total student body is approximately over 39,000 which is distributed amongst the Faculties of Law, Humanities & Education, Pure and Applied Sciences, Social Sciences and the School of Clinical Medicine & Research; Arts & Education, Medical Sciences, Social Sciences and Pure & Applied Sciences at Mona; and Agriculture & Natural Sciences, Engineering, Humanities & Education, Medical Sciences and Social Sciences at St. Augustine. Barbados now boasts a student population of 10,000.
